So this morning I was watching CNN and I saw something somewhat amazing, well maybe not depending on your outlook I suppose. In any case, growing up in north america I was often told when not wanting to eat some particular vegetable there were starving kids somewhere in the world who would love my broccoli. With that in mind the particular CNN news story was talking about a village in Burma that could no longer grow food because their land had be devastated, there were clips of some Burmese people looking bummed out, and one guy commenting that he knew they were going to starve to death. That being a big enough bummer as it is, CNN then cut to its hourly “Gas prices are real real high in the US” (which they really aren’t compared to anywhere else in the WHOLE WORLD). I just couldn’t believe the segue, from a horrifying story about people dying WITHOUT FOOD, to a bunch of whiny people complaining about it being expensive to go on holidays… Man we have it rough… .Joe
