Finally finished geology and onto slightly more exciting things. I’ll be working on some manner of text editor in the coming weeks for my advanced design patterns class. So maybe I’ll have something of interest to post on that. I find CS courses kind of funny as they require the strangest things of you. In this case we are being asked to implement a bunch of the  original GoF (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gang_of_Four_(software)) patterns, in Java. (Read: iterator, list… etc.) Which is, well kind of insane considering they have all been implemented quite well in Java already (java.util.list……….) Bah!

Anyway I’ll let you know how it goes, and of course post the results.

I have full intent to continue posting my various projects up here. It’s really jsut a matter of find the time, and the code on my computer.

Hey, I was inspired and changed the layout, as well as, started updating the projects section. I’ll slowly upload all the source code from my various projects. Most will include code for your reading pleasure.

So last week sucked. Last minute rushes to get stuff done, poorly written lines of code that failed at the last second. Again had our team been perhaps firing on all cylinders  back in January our project might have been a bit better. This week is sucking even more.Doc writing is probably the least fun  activity a programmer can sit down and do. *Sigh* also I’ve got this crazy Philosophy essay that I put off all term, sorta my own fault, I am hoping for an extension there but who knows. I am off, time to write an exam, at least that will be one class down and dealt with. .joe 

So, day one is over, I’ve established a bit of a cool look and feel around here so I think I’ve been pretty productive.

Also, I posted my first draft for my GSoC proposal, just waiting for the CF people to look over it before I submit it. It does look to be a pretty interesting topic. If you are interested please feel free to have a look and check it out.

In the coming days while I have time I am going to try and start posting stuff about my previous projects. Seems like it will more likely happen when I get done with this term though.

So in an effort to do everything like my buddy Josh…… I’ve started up my little space on the internet. The idea being that I can publish information about projects I’ve been working on. And projects I have worked on as well. Where applicable I’ll post code, and maybe someone somewhere will find some of this stuff useful. If not it will at least give me a way to track what I’ve done with my life…

So anyway stay tuned… It promises to be, well probably fairly mundane,  a bit geeky, and likely typo filled.
