I am a highly motivated person who enjoys working in a challenging environment. I particularly enjoy design challenges that allow me to expand my knowledge. Through my years at university i’ve learned great time management skills, and am able to work effectively on multiple projects at the same time.

Experience

Software Developer, Catalyst Realtime Calgary, 2003-Present [Summers]
As a Software Developer at Catalyst I was given the task of writing several binary file importers for Catalyst’s Myriad software package. This mostly involved reverse engineering binary files formats. I was also responsible for the development of several GUI tools beyond the standard Java API.

Rails Developer, Christmas Future 2007-Present
At Christmas Future I was part of the first developer team to work on the Donor Trust software package. I was responsible for designing and implementing several elements of the back end system that controls DonorTrust.

Graphical Interface Designer, TELVENT Calgary, 2002
As a GID (Graphical Interface Designer) I was responsible for creating user interfaces for the OASyS SCADA control system. This position involved operation of AutoCAD 2002, as well as object oriented programming in OBEL (Telvent’s in house language).

Education

University of New Brunswick — BScEng Computer Engineering Fourth year.
Completed 4 years of a computer engineering degree with a 3.8 average.

Southern Alberta Institute of Technology—Film and Video Production 2001-2003.
Earned a diploma with honors in Film and Video production, with a specialization in camera and lighting.

Skills

I have extensive experience with many programming languages on a variety of platforms, including: Java, C/C++, Object-C, Ruby on Rails, PHP, and VHDL to name a few. I have a great deal of experience programming micro controllers for the field of robotics. I have experience developing both small and large projects using various IDEs (Eclipse, Code Warrior, MS Visual Studio).
