So, I was reading my friend Leif’s blog last night and I really liked his idea of posting goals for 2009. I’ve never been one for resolutions as they tend to not get kept, but this to me seemed like something that would be more up my alley. So without further delay here are some things I’d like to do this year, and I’ll try to be more quantified this time.

Read at least 3 books for fun - Having just finished my degree, I’d really like to get back into reading for fun as I’ve not done so in a long long long time.

Run another half marathon (or at least 10 km) - A few years ago I managed a half in 2 hours, since I’ve injured my knee, but I think if things go the way they have it’s realistic to do so by the july stampede half.

Ski at least 20 days - I’ve got a seasons pass at Fernie, Kimberly, Lake Louise, and Nakiska and at the very least would like to pay it down. I’ve got 5 days on my pass so far so it’s looking fairly good, and am planning to take 11 days when Meg comes for a visit. 

Write at least one iPhone app - I am a registered developer, but finding time to do it and a decent idea is always difficult.

Contribute to an Open Source project - I already sorta do this one, but I’d like to do more to work on the generic version of DonorTrust. We’ll see how possible this would be given time constraints.

Blog more consistently / interestingly - I want to get into the habbit of doing this weekly, Leif showed me this program things and i’ve got a weekly reminder to blog so hopefully that helps.

Be better with my log book - I am an EIT and should be keeping better notes, so to that end I should really write in the log book a bit more… right now it’s got a lot of doodles and stuff that makes no sense.

Play Guitar at least 3 times a week - This one should be easy, though I might like a new guitar too.

Take more photographs - I’ve got a nice camera I gifted to my self last year, and I really should make more use of it. 

Save some money / Pay down some debt - Student loans, line of credit, all that jazz I’d like to have at least the higher interest elements taken care of soonish (next few months) again given the amount I am working this should be doable. 

Talk less - This is sort of a funny one in my mind, but I have a tendency to dominate conversations which can be off putting to some, but also it tends to keep me from learning as much as I could.

That’s about all I could think of on short notice, I may edit this one as time goes on, and I think up new things I’d like to achieve with this year.
